We will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in our school Library in week 7 of term 2. The Book Fair will run from Monday 29th May until Friday 2nd June. Like last year, we will split our shopping times into year levels to reduce crowding and make it easier for students to make their selections. The opening times will be:
- 8:10 – 8:30 am (Parents with their own child/ren only – any year levels)
- 8:30 – 8:45 am (year 4-6 students)
- First Break (year P-4 students)
- Second Break (year 5-6 students)
- 3:00 – 3:20 pm (Parents with their own child/ren only – any year levels)
- *Please note that students are also welcome to use their regular library borrowing time to make purchases. For younger students this is a much quieter time and more adults are available to assist.
*I know that siblings are often given money to share as a family at the Book Fair and their ages may see them spread across year levels. If students make me aware when entering the library that they are shopping as a family, they can attend at any timeslot together.
There will also be an opportunity for adults to enjoy some “student free" browsing time from 8:50 – 9:20 am each day. We will have EFTPOS facilities available, plus you will also be able to order online or pay by cash when making any purchases. There will be great books, craft packs, posters and stationery on offer. Like our previous Scholastic Fairs, there will be lucky prize draws daily. For each book or craft pack purchased, students will receive a raffle ticket and then a lucky winner will be selected to receive a prize from the Fair.
A sign in book will be available at the library for adults attending the Book Fair before or after school. If you are staying on the school site as a parent volunteer after visiting the Book Fair in the morning, please sign in at the office and collect a visitor tag.
Book Fairs are a great way to grow our Library. The more books purchased at the Book Fair, the more free books Scholastic provides to our Library in return. What a great way to inspire our young readers!
